This feature is something that third party tools such as Hootsuite and Buffer have been offering for a while now so the fact Facebook have now made it part of their own feature set will now doubt put some pressure on them.

Facebook have stated that your posts can now be scheduled up to six months in advance and posting intervals can be as short as 15 minutes.

Here is how to go about scheduling a post:

  1. Go to your pages sharing tool.
  2. Choose the type of post to share.
  3. You will see a little clock icon in the lower left hand corner of the sharing tool that you can click on.
  4. Choose the year, month, day, hour and minute that the post should appear on your page. All times are based on the time zone the user is in while performing the action.
  5. Click Schedule.

You can also choose to back date content on your page by picking dates in the past. The posts you back date will appear immediately on your page’s timeline in the appropriate place.
